In order to understand the concerns of stakeholders and address them appropriately, one ought to engage the stakeholders just as the Sewerage Services Department did earlier today when the team tasked itself with a customer engagement drive in Naalya, a suburb of Kampala City. The exercise was aimed at addressing complaints against the smell from the Naalya Sewerage Ponds.

The Senior Manager Sewerage Services, Eng. James Miiro Maiteki together with his team and the Local Council Chairman, Mr. Bulamu Allan visited the affected residents to make known that the corporation takes to heart their complaints and intends to resolve them as soon as possible.

The team toured the facility and arrived at smell elimination measures which include but are not limited to: Intensifying operation and maintenance with appropriate screenings handling, Use of chemicals for shock smell reduction, De-sludge the ponds by month end and increase the frequency of desludging, and Inspection of premises for illegal stormwater connections.

Eng. Maiteki re-echoed NWSCs commitment to provision of the best water and sewerage services.
