During a meeting characterized by top Ministry leadership, associated commissioners and members of the Government Communicators Forum (GCOF-a fraternity that brings together Communicators from all Government Agencies), the Minister of National Guidance, Hon. Kabbyanga Godfrey Baluku, the State Minister for Information Communications-Hon. Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of ICT, Dr Aminah Zawedde in unison, during their addresses, commended the National Water and Sewerage Corporation’s Board of Directors and Management for embracing digital media communications and a holistic approach to new media and traditional media management that has enabled the brand to attain good brand positioning and essence.
Communications and PR are no longer jobs of beautiful princesses and handsome men to smile on TV, it is a job for warmongers and cadres who are ready to fight for their Government and brands. I see NWSC everywhere. They are quick to give clarification as and when fake news breaks and subsequently manage the news” Hon Godfrey Kyabbanga said.
“I’m impressed with what NWSC is doing with its various digital media handles. They are interactive, listen to customers and communicate Government programs”, stated Dr Aminah Zawedde
They acknowledged the dynamics that come with new media and expressed the privileged to have a generation with good knowledge and passion for the latest trends. Hon. Kyabbanga went on to call upon the various Public Relations Officers to learn and work with youthful subordinates.
“Don’t compete with them, work through them in the new robust communications era. We need to unlearn, learn and relearn new things from these young people. Let them also learn from your experience.” he urged.
