Over the years, NWSC has undertaken a multitude of long-term and short-term organisational development and performance improvement initiatives, aimed at improving performance and strengthening the institution’s capacity to deliver its mandate to the population of Uganda.

Because of the high rate of urbanization and population growth, the demand for water in most parts of Entebbe, Kajansi in particular has increased drastically.

Through deliberate strategic and tactical interventions, therefore, NWSC Entebbe Area is moving to turn around its water supply reliability in Kajansi, Kitende, Makandwa, Lumuli, Nakigalala, Kitovu, Mazzi, Kagga, Sekiwunga and Kawotto with the Kisubi-Namulanda Project.

This will be achieved through the dedicated/direct line from the State House Entebbe reservoir to Kajansi.

The 5km bulk water supply intervention is part of the Service Coverage Acceleration Project (SCAP100), which aims at ensuring universal and equitable access to safe water supply by the population in all villages under NWSC jurisdiction.

The interventions also entail increasing the size of the pumps at the Kitende reservoir to boost supply to Kiwamirembe. Trenching has already taken effect and the project is expected to be completed by the end of October.

The project will cost approximately 1billion Shillings and will serve over 12 villages.

Notably, the groundbreaking event featured different stakeholders from the Entebbe Area including the Mayor of Kajansi Town Council, Kayondo Ndawula Bashir, the Vice-Chairperson of Kitende, Kibirige Geoffrey, members of the clergy and a few customers.
