The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) held a crucial stakeholder engagement with Greenhill Academy’s management to address their concerns about high water bills. Leading the NWSC team were the Senior Manager-CBD Zone, Ms. Anette Kukunda, the Ag. Branch Manager of Industrial, Ms. Christine Atim, and Marketing Assistant, Jason Kamugisha. Greenhill Academy, one of the branch’s premium accounts, had particularly raised issues regarding the high bills associated with its Boarding section, which includes a swimming pool.

Upon arrival, the NWSC team conducted a meticulous review of the academy’s three accounts. They examined account statements and analyzed trends in consumption and billing dating back to 2021 to address the academy’s primary concern: fluctuating billing amounts over the past three years, despite consistent consumption levels.

Ms. Kukunda provided a detailed explanation of the indexations applied over time and offered practical advice for the school’s administrators. She recommended routine maintenance and the installation of sensor types to prevent water misuse. This guidance was aimed at helping the academy manage its water consumption more efficiently and avoid unnecessary costs.

The discussion also highlighted other pressing issues, such as intermittent supply problems, including low water pressure. The academy requested the installation of a non-return valve to address these concerns. The NWSC team assured the school that these issues would be promptly addressed to improve the water supply’s reliability and quality.

After an hour-long discussion, the NWSC team successfully alleviated the academy’s concerns, which saw the school’s management express their satisfaction with the outcome and commit to maintaining timely bill payments. They also emphasized the importance of sustaining a strong, collaborative relationship with NWSC.

Ms. Kukunda and her team’s approach is a powerful tool for building strong customer relationships, ensuring that both parties benefit from a more efficient and effective service delivery system.
