Dr. Ham Mulira Mukasa, the proprietor of the proposed Kampala Water reservoir atop Ziranumbu Hill, convened with John Bosco Otema, the Manager of Pro Poor and Community Collaborations with the aim of ironing out the wrinkles in land procurement for the reservoir, a process beset by delays since its initiation in December 2022.
Understanding the criticality of prompt land acquisition, their dialogue centered on identifying and overcoming obstacles that have impeded progress, chiefly attributed to National Water and Sewerage Corporation’s sloth. This setback has prompted a reevaluation of strategies to ensure a smoother path forward.
The envisioned reservoir is greatly and rightfully anticipated by the residents in Ndejje, Najjanankumbi, Salaama road, and neighboring localities, promising relief from perennial water scarcity. Its realization hinges upon expeditious procurement, a fact not lost on the stakeholders involved.
With ongoing consultations geared towards expediting the procurement process, optimism prevails among stakeholders.
