The Kampala Water team is gearing up for an extensive public awareness campaign following the completion of the Kisoga water mains project aimed at accelerating supply reliability in Ntenjeru, Kisoga, and Katosi landing site areas.

Led by Mr. John Bosco Otema, Manager of Pro-Poor Services and Collaboration, the KW region has taken a proactive stance, and engaged key stakeholders in Kisoga, including the Town Clerk, local leaders, and influential opinion leaders. The purpose of this inclusive discussion extends beyond mere preparation for the upcoming public awareness campaign, and rather aims to gauge the community’s expectations and insights regarding the recently finalized project.

During these discussions, Mr. Otema highlighted the primary goal of the project to enhance health standards by ensuring a steady supply of safe and clean water to residents. Emphasizing the importance of advocating for increased connections to the tapped water system, he highlighted the potential to promote a healthier lifestyle within the community.

A significant development in this endeavor is the establishment of an NWSC-KW branch in Kisoga. This branch will play a significant role in supporting the community through the intricacies of application procedures, understanding associated costs, and providing other relevant details.

Local leaders, impressed by the project’s potential impact, acknowledged that this achievement would stand as a notable highlight during their leadership tenure. Expressing gratitude to the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) for prioritizing the need for clean water and extending vital services to communities, they emphasized the positive implications for the overall well-being of the residents.

The Katosi water mains project not only promises to boost water sales growth but also aims to improve service coverage, ultimately enhancing the overall well-being of the community through the availability of safe and clean water.
